Mimi Village Nagaland.(Pictures by Ben Doherty)
In trance with the new kind of world, deep into the woods of the surreal and nature’s best artwork:
Longpfur(Yimchunger) Traditional Morung.
Inhabited by the Longpfurr tribe (a Sub-tribe) under Yimchunger Naga Tribe, about 300 cosy households are nestled in this heavenly place.

Further extended to 7 other villages (8 including Mimi Village), the others are:
Khongka, Howkomute, Mutingkhong, Lopfukhong, khongjire, Betang and Khaha.
Talk about Mother Nature’s best craftsmanship, Mimi Village falls nothing short of it! Surrounded by mountains covered with Limestone’s cave, maiden forest untrodden by man-made machines, big wild cats and Wild Boars roaming about, Wild Bucks and Bears in complete harmony with nature, this place awaken our senses in unimaginable ways.

Rich in natural resources yet untouched, the villagers are the embodiment of simplicity. Leading in a perfect harmony with nature by farming, crafting and hunting, they are peace-loving and contented folks. However, now the younger generations have started going for further studies, with increasing numbers of Government jobs employees and that of private sectors as well.
All in all, Mimi village to us is the perfect kind of surrounding that will make you realize how much nature has to offer to us.

I did not fall from Space
However alien I may appear to this planet, this land, these people, I come from this earth. From its water, its soil, its people, its blood. It has provided me with a life, which I willingly and humbly direct. Despite all attempts by the civilized logic to separate me, to dislocate me, to destroy my connection, I am still part of this fusion of life, this deeply integrated accumulation of living beings.
We were all indigenous to somewhere, someone, and somehow…
and can become so again. The old ways are gone, but I am still going home,
not necessarily where I started, but maybe somewhere I began.
